Who Is The Richest Musician In The World 2013?
“Madonna” Louise Veronica Ciccone is the richest musician in the world when it comes to comparing wealth. Despite living in times where piracy in the music industry is at an all-time high, there are still a good number of musicians who are making a lot of money. The top spot for the wealthiest musician has been a closely contested between the equally famous Lady Gaga and Madonna, a rivalry that has trickled down to their singing career. Lady Gaga came into the music industry a few years back with a provocative pop style of singing that is somehow similar to her. The rivalry between these two singers has been quite vocal as she accused Lady Gaga of ripping off one of her songs. Early Life Of Richest Musician In The World
She was born in Bay City, Michigan 55 years ago. Her mother was an x-ray technician and dancer of French Canadian descent. Her father, Tony Ciccone an engineer of Italian descent was the first to graduate from college in his family. Despite her crazy controversial character, she was raised in a strict Catholic family where she was the third born of 6 children.
When she was just a young girl, her mother died of breast cancer. After Fortin’s death, Tony married the family’s housekeeper, Joan Gustafson and fathered three more children. The death of Fortin significantly affected her teenage years and she strongly fought against the rules imposed on her by her father and stepmother. She also rebelled against her religious background by replacing her decent way of dressing with revealing outfits and started going to nightclubs.
In school, she was the perfect example of excellence as she was a cheerleader, straight A grade student, and a disciplined dancer. Her intelligence and talent earned her a full scholarship in the dance program at the University of Michigan, where she spent two years, and then dropped out and left for New York to further her dance career.
Path To Fame
Once in New York, she fought fiercely and worked very hard to achieve her dreams. She took on several odd jobs and modeled before starting several different bands of her own. A few years later, since her arrival in New York, she decided to go solo and was able to release her very first album titled “Madonna” in 1983. Her debut album became a success and catapulted her to fame and two years later, she released her follow up album, “Like A Virgin”. That same year she made an entry into the film industry where she appeared in the movie, ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’.
After striving for several years, this richest female musician has finally become a household name with girls in America copying her distinct sense of fashion. She continued to grow as a musician, entertainer, and actress, released more songs and albums, and appeared in more films. Today, she is one of the most famous celebrities and has a net worth of $500 million as of September 2013. A huge chunk of her wealth comes from one of her most recent tours. The MDNA tour generated plenty of controversy but it also earned the singer a lot of money. The tour took place in 88 cities and brought in a total of $305 million.
Business Ventures Of Madonna
